193945 > 1.31.09 - BONUS PIC 1 of 2...

Just wanted to share these two bonus pics. Took these both the a.m. of the 31st. This is prior to Annie's TKD testing. Was just having fun with this shot and the subsequent post editing :)
193945 > 1.31.09 - BONUS PIC 2 of 2...

Harrison eating breakfast prior to TKD testing. Was just playing around pre and post production pic taking.
193945 > 1.31.09 - TKD TESTING...

Both Annaleigh & Harrison tested today for their next level black belt. Annaleigh, 1st degree, L2 and Harrison 2nd degree, L3.

Pictured is Harrison doing his form. In addition to forms, both of them have to spar and break boards.

We are so proud of them both. I really enjoy TKD and think it's great for the kids...and the family for that matter. We have some great family memories from all of the classes, testings and tournaments we've participated in over the last 4 1/2 years.

With Jackson loving to clinch his hands in fists all of the time...we wonder if he is our next black belt to be :)

If you'd like to see all pics from today's testing, go to the Sports > TaeKwonDo link http://www.193945.com/Sports/498139. Not only will today's pics be up there but you'll see many, many more TKD pics.
193945 > 1.30.09 - AND THE WINNER IS...

If you read Kellie's POTD today you'll know that we did this cool thing tonight where we went through our closets and drawers and threw away, or will be donating, stuff that needs to go! Boy, we got rid of a lot of stuff.

I REALLY like throwing stuff away. In fact, I get in trouble with Kellie often b/c of this fact :)

Anyways, the kids dedcided to keep track of how much they were getting rid of by using a time tested method :) There was a winner and it was Harrison. Actually, this whole fam was the winner b/c we decluttered...and it feels great!
193945 > 1.29.09 - STARBUCKS w/ SIS...

That's weird...two pics in a row that are coffee related...go figure :)

I got to take sis to tutorial this a.m. at 8:30. We left early, ran a couple of errands and then hung out in the Spring Hill Starbucks. As I was sitting there I just knew this would be my POTD. Went out to get my camera and a photo shoot insued. Sis was a great sport :)

Speaking of Annaleigh...I sure do love that girl and am VERY proud of her!!! She is an amazing young lady indeed.

I don't know about you all, but I think I don't do the best of jobs making sure my kids know how much I love them, how thankful I am to be their dad and how proud I am of them. I'm really trying to do a much better job with this.

"Annaleigh...I love you! You are SUCH a blessing! A GREAT sis! A GREAT daughter! A WONDERFUL friend! A GODLY young lady! You go girl!!!"

p.s. Annaleigh is not drinking coffee :) She is drinking some infusioned tea thingy.
193945 > 1.28.09 - MORE COFFEE...

O.K., I told you I like coffee. Tonight I came home and after watching AI with the fam, I had a craving for some coffee. Brewed a strong pot, threw in some brown sugar & added some frothed milk.

To date, with a few exceptions, I've drank coffee late at night and without problems (I'm not wired as I lay my head to sleep). I sure hope I don't have problems as I get older.

Well, I'm off to enjoy my second cup, eat a brownie Kellie made (see her POTD today & please don't tell my biggest loser team at work...I actually gained a couple of pounds last week) and then head off to bed.
193945 > 1.27.09 - MOTHER AND CHILD...

I had a totally different picture idea all ready and then I walked back in to the room to these two on our bed.

I knew that this was THE picture for my daily pic. This picture gives me the perfect opportunity to brag on Kellie and the incredible job she is doing with Annaleigh, Harrison & our little Jackson.

These past days, weeks and months have been quite the challenge for Kellie. She has lost a lot of sleep & pretty much had Jackson on her hip every waking moment...or so it appears / seems. Additionally, school has started back for the kids (we homeschool) and she is their teacher. On top of that...laundry, meals, the house, errands, kids needing to go everywhere, a needy husband, etc...you get the picture!

She loves our children so much and it shows in the unwavering devotion that is evident in how she lives her life, day by day, with the three of them.

"Kellie, I love you and am VERY proud of you and VERY thankful our kids can call you "mommy!"

"Kids, kiss and hug your mommy today...you've got a keeper indeed!!!"
193945 > 1.26.09 - BURP CLOTH MONDAY...

(You'll get the title better if you read 1/18/09 Peek-a-Boo pic below.)

O.K., so Harrison didn't have the greatest of days. He was not at his best, did not do his best and did not end his day on any high point.

That said, in our prayers tonight before he went to bed he prayed a sincere prayer from his heart. In it, he mentioned that things did not go all that well but at least there was a new day tomorrow.

Do you ever have bad days? Boy, I had a really bad one last Thursday at work. When bad days are upon you, tomorrow always looks great :) Thank God for tomorrows...even though we are only promised, so to speak, today. I'm off to a very interesting day tomorrow. To God be the glory!

"Harrison, Dad's praying that you have a GREAT day tomorrow. That you work hard unto the Lord and do your very best. I'm proud of you and know you can do it! I love you..."
193945 > 1.25.09 - INTRODUCING CLARA NOELLE...

O.K., may I admit that I've always been convicted when reading Proverbs 10:12, "A righteous man has regard for the life of his animal..."

For all that know me well, you know that I'm not a real big indoor pet person (not much "regard" for them...to say the least). I'm facinated with God's creations...I just prefer they aren't soiling my carpets, sharing their fleas, chewing my shoes, pooping in my yard, etc.

At the same time, I'm a sucker for my family (my kid's affirmed this fact recently). I love my family, they love pets and that is why this family has always had a pet(s). We sadly had to put to sleep Bridgette & Baxter in the last two months of 2008.

Meet Clara Noelle Adelgren...our Christmas present to our children. This time I committed to myself that I would learn to love this dog. Well, seriously, I really do love this little dog. She is a GREAT pet and companion and I'm so thankful she is part of our family. Welcome Clara Noelle!!!
193945 > 1.24.08 - A TRUE CRAFTSMAN...

Pictured is Mike Bowser.

Mike owns a cabinet shop down in Mt. Pleasant, TN and has been a general contractor for many years. His wife works at our clinic down in Mt. Pleasant.

They wondered if I'd be interested in taking some pics of a big install they are going to do in Brentwood. It's a very special / custom job (to say the least...have NEVER seen anything like it before).

I met Mike this a.m. down at his shop. What a beautiful shop and what craftsman Mike and his crew are. I was so impressed, and as always, I LOVE meeting new people and learning about their lives, what they do, how they do, etc.

I'll be spending some time with Mike over the next few months documenting the process and eventually the installation one day in March.

Had a great time getting to know Mike. If you are in need of custom cabinets, let me know and I'll put you in touch with Mike. What a great guy and what a great job they do!
193945 > 1.24.08 - HI KELLIE...

Kellie was on the floor playing around with Clara (our puppy). I thought it was cute so I wanted to take a pic of her. As most of us would do, she didn't want her pic taken. She warmed to the idea, after I promised her a trip to Ireland and England, and I was able to snap this pic. I just love it & I just love Kellie!!!

On that note, following the reading of this caption, how about you go grab the one you love, wrap him/her in your arms and tell them just how much you seriously love them! Aren't you blessed? Make sure they know you know this fact!

While you're at it, be sure to thank the Lord for your blessings...big and small.

Have a great day rejoicing in love and abundant blessings...
193945 > 1.23.09 - EARLY MORNING HANGOUT...

I spend many an early morning at this Panera Bread in Cool Springs (Franklin, TN).

I really like getting there early in the a.m., sitting in my regular booth, gettin' the coffee flowing, reading, thinking, watching, talking, working, etc.

I will also spend an entire morning here getting caught up on work. I find that I need time away from the office to focus when I have deadlines looming, e-mails piling up and the like.

Saw this sky on the 23rd and just thought it would make an interesting pic.
193945 > 1.22.09 - LIQUID GOLD...

Ahhhh, the a.m. coffee pot!

I drink coffee throughout the day. However, coffee first thing in the a.m. and then right about 3:00 p.m. are hard to beat :)

Many moons ago in Charleston, SC a group of us would share a 3:00 p.m. daily cup of coffee. Since then, I have an internal clock of sorts that needs coffee right about 3:00 p.m. every day.
193945 > 1.21.09 - OFFICE...

Was leaving the office this evening and I had the thought that I'm trying to discipline myself to have each day...need to take a pic to share today.

I looked at my desk and thought I'd share a mundane pic of it :) I don't recall being ever as busy as I am now with paperwork piling, e-mails streaming, projects stacking up & to-do items growing.

You know what? I'm most thankful for all of it :) I'm thankful for a job! I'm thankful for an AMAZING group of people I work with. I'm thankful for great pay and benefits. I'm thankful for my work...the work God has given me to do. May I do it, each day, unto Him!!!

Have a great day...at work :) Carpe Diem!!!
193945 > 1.18.09 - JACKSON...

Just had to have two pics for this day. Both are of a "photo shoot" I did of Baby Jack. This pic totally reminds me of Jackson...big eyes, head back and fists at the ready :)
